Marie-Ève joined Novalex after having co-managed Podlegal, a firm specialized in start-ups support and technology law. Previously, she acted as corporate counsel for a company in the health sector and practiced with a Montreal law firm.
Marie-Ève is a lawyer in our Business Law Group. She works with a diversified clientele and supports executives and legal departments through the various stages of growth. She acts at all stages, from the incorporation to the implementation of a shareholders’ agreement, including the drafting and execution of commercial or operational agreements, the completion of financing rounds or the conclusion of transactions. She works particularly with companies in the fields of technology, services, pharmaceuticals and health care.
Through her experience in private practice, in legal departments and in the management of a law firm, Marie-Ève has become a bright lawyer who understands the different perspectives of the parties involved in a matter and who cares about her clients’ business interests, while avoiding unnecessary steps.

ACTED as corporate counsel to a Quebec technology company, working closely with the company’s in-house lawyers to review and draft contracts with their clients and suppliers as well as to implement platforms and measures to assist their employees in reviewing their transactional contracts;
ACCOMPANIED several health companies in their first round of financing;
ADVISED startup companies with respect to their incorporation and corporate organization;
DRAFTED shareholder agreements, stock option plans, service contracts, distribution contracts, terms of use and various other commercial agreements;
REVIEWED contracts with universities, hospitals and staff, and reviewed the compliance of calls for tenders from suppliers for a company in the health sector;
ADVISEDstartups, medium-sized and larger companies with respect to commercial matters and civil liability;
DEVELOPED corporate strategies and policies adapted to the legal obligations of a company in the health sector;
ACCOMPANIED emerging startup companies as well as individuals wishing to represent themselves before the Small Claims Court of Quebec;
DRAFTED pleadings and REPRESENTED individuals before the Superior Court and the Court of Québec in civil cases of up to $500,000 as well as in family matters.
