Marie-Pier joined Novalex after starting her career with a Montréal business law firm.
Marie-Pier practices with our civil and commercial litigation group. She represents and advises companies and individuals in various litigation matters, including construction, civil and professional liability and real estate, as well as in shareholder proceedings. Marie-Pier also advises her clients on employment and labour matters, particularly in the interpretation of contracts and the implementation of internal policies, as well as in the context of monetary complaints.
Committed to efficiently support her clients, she makes sure to fully grasp both their legal and business needs so to put her expertise and creativity to work to resolve conflicts and find solutions that are truly adapted. Marie-Pier’s social commitment has been an integral part of her professional life. She has been involved in the community as a volunteer with the Legal Information Clinic at McGill University, as well as an intern with the Éducaloi organization.
Before starting her practice, she had the opportunity to deepen her legal knowledge through a summer internship at a multinational company in the aeronautic sector and a clerkship with a judge of the Montréal Municipal Court.

ACTED on behalf of a commercial and industrial developer in connection with an action for damages brought as a result of a municipality’s failure to provide information in connection with a sale;
PARTICIPATED in the defence of a Quebec company operating in the audio-visual entertainment industry in an arbitration to determine the terms and conditions for the renewal of a commercial lease;
PARTICIPATED in the defence of a real estate developer and builder before the Quebec Court of Appeal in a property law dispute;
ADVISED a foreign company operating in the fields of construction and transportation engineering in connection with obtaining temporary licences to practice engineering;
ACTED on behalf of a Quebec company working in the landscaping field in the context of a contestation of a call for tenders process.
DEFENDEDvarious professionals in connection with lawsuits brought as a result of professional misconduct allegedly committed in the course of their mandate;
REPRESENTED an employer in the agri-food sector in connection with a monetary complaint filed by a former employee;
PARTICIPATED in the negotiation of a transaction to terminate the association between two shareholders of a company involved in real estate development;
ADVISED contractors working in the construction field in applications for contractor licences granted by the Régie du Bâtiment du Québec, the Corporation des Maîtres Électriciens du Québec and the Corporation des Maîtres Mécaniciens en Tuyauterie du Québec;
REPRESENTED an insurance company in various subrogatory actions for the recovery of debts;
ADVISED a franchisee in connection with the termination of his franchise agreement;
ADVISED a Canadian multinational company operating in the aeronautics sector on the implementation of an intellectual property policy.
