We stand up for what is right
Novalex is a for-profit social enterprise that actively and concretely makes a difference by reinvesting a portion of its profits to generate measurable social impact. Our mission is to make quality legal services accessible to all, regardless of their financial means.
For every hour of professional fees paid by our business clients, we offer one free hour of legal services to an individual, NPO, cooperative or social enterprise that would not otherwise have access to a lawyer.
Our “1 for 1” commitment is audited by the independent members of the Legal Clinic’s Board of Directors.
Legal clinic
We believe that justice is best served when all parties are advised, accompanied and, if necessary, represented by a lawyer.
Our legal clinic receives and processes requests for pro bono legal services from eligible* individuals, NPOs, cooperatives and social enterprises, which are then handled by the firm’s lawyers. The clinic also provides legal information through workshops and conferences.

Legal services for Nunavik residents
Novalex provides representation, consultations and legal clinics in partnership with the Nunavik Community Justice Centre, the Quebec Ministry of Justice and Air Inuit.
B Corp Certification
Our commitment to social responsibility
Certified B Corp companies achieve a minimum verified score on the B Impact Assessment – a rigorous evaluation of a company’s impact on its workers, customers, community and environment. This certification is awarded after a rigorous audit and selection process by an independent body (B-Lab) to companies that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability, all with the aim of combining profit and social purpose. Companies such as Patagonia, Danone and Ben & Jerry’s are part of this community of impact leaders.
Novalex is proud to be the first law firm in Quebec to have received B Corp certification.
